Cambodia Tech Catalyst to Honour Women Entrepreneurs in Tech and Investment

The Cambodia Tech Catalyst in Koh Pich, is set to hold a series of panel discussions featuring some of Cambodia’s dynamic women entrepreneurs and start-up founders, honouring their significant contributions to the investment and start-up landscape.

Registrations are reaching 200 guests for this Tuesday (12 March 2024) at Koh Pich City Hall. The event under the theme “Kingdom of Possibilities” covers two interesting topics which aim to unlock the country’s potential in digital, entrepreneurship and tech transformation: How to scale up and how to successfully invest in Cambodia.

The event co-organized by OCIC Group, Koh Pich, Impact Hub Phnom Penh, and Khmer Enterprise, features two-talented individuals from Google Cloud Asia Pacific, visiting from Singapore: Ms Esna Ong, Start-up Success Manager and Ms Kathleen Chiu, Customer Engineer as key speakers on Generative A.I. and Data Analytics during the three-day events, highlighting the importance of greater participation, collaboration and inclusivity in Cambodia’s growing and evolving tech and digital ecosystem.

With topics such as “how to scale up in Cambodia” and “how to successfully invest in Cambodia”, the event presents a line-up of successful women entrepreneurs or change drivers from the public and private sector such as Ms. Molika Meas (iCare Benefits), Ms. Lida Loem (SHE Investments), Ms. Lisa Chao (Khmer Enterprise) or Ms. Kounila Keo (Mekhala Radiant Communications) and Ms. Melanie Mossard (Impact Hub). They will share their journey of challenges and success in competitive fields while exchanging with the audience on the chance to provide feedbacks on how one can elevate a business ventures in Cambodia, to the next level.

Ms Kry Sorachna, a year 3 student at CamTech University who has worked on the preparation of the initiative shares her enthusiasm: "As a tech student with entrepreneurial aspirations, I look forward to these events and expect it to be an odyssey—an exploration of shared experiences from experts especially women founders, a source of inspiration, and a canvas where I can uncover the incredible possibilities that technology has in store for my future endeavours and for Cambodia.”

Confirmed to take part in the events are established Cambodian and regional start-ups such as MeetDoctors, Nham24, PillTech, Bongloy, Joonak, Tenbox, Bronx, Kess Innovation, Unbox Marketing Agency, Yugo, Polymer, Sala Tech, Bondoul, Solutions BI, Bi Kay, Cam58, or Smile Shop among others, as well as various media partners from Kiripost, Cambodia Investment Review, Sabay News, Cambodge Mag, 58cam.com, Humans of Cambodia, Mekong Focus to The Better Cambodia.

The Cambodia Tech Catalyst event sponsored by ISI Group, Heineken, Canadia Bank, Anant Law Firm, Bill24 and Khmer Enterprise features a series of activities which include bootcamp sessions wherein some 500 Students from university (CamTech University) and high school (CIS Phnom Penh) will have the opportunity to interact with Google Cloud’s creative team. The event also expects to bring together some 100 decision makers from across the country through CTO connect sessions to be held at the new Connexion Community Hub in Koh Pich, a bioclimatic mixed-use commercial facility which will soon serve home to various local start-ups, innovation hub, incubators, coding school, F&B outlets and more.
